Tuition & Policies

At LFC*daycare, our little ones discover the joy of learning in a safe, play-based environment where fun and exploration drive their interests and help them gain the independence skills they seek and need at this stage of their development. Socialization, bilingualism, and socio-emotional wellbeing are at the core of our approach to teaching. Children learn while being given the tools to regulate themselves and learn to express their ideas and feelings through art, music, language, literacy and collaborative play.

Mutual respect, responsibility and joy of learning are values that are important to us. Our students: ● Learn to respect themselves, others and the school. ● Learn to accept responsibility for their own actions and their wellbeing. ● Build self awareness and independence. ● Grow in a joyful, positive and supportive environment.

Drop off and pick up:

Parents can park on Wilson Avenue in front of the LFC*daycare building. This 15-minute loading zone is available for LFC*daycare families only. Public street parking is also available.

Arrival 

Parents can open the exterior entrance door with their phone. to access the front lobby. For security reasons, the second door has to be activated by a LFC*daycare employee. The parent or adult dropping off the child must: - walk their child to their cubby, - escort the child into the designated room, - sign in using the Brightwheel QR code, -  acknowledge the LFC*daycare employees and say goodbye to their child (kisses, hugs, etc.) - upon entry to their room, the children will wash their hands with soap and water.

Dismissal : no later than 6:00 pm

Upon departure, the parent or adult picking up the child must:

• Go directly to their child’s classroom
• Use the Brightwheel QR code to sign out,
• Ensure that the caregiver is aware of their departure.

Parents may visit LFC*daycare unannounced and at any time that their child is in care.

Failure to Pick Up (DCFS mandated Policy): 5 minutes after the closure time or scheduled pick up time, we will attempt to call parents / caregivers three times. If we cannot reach you after three calls, we will begin calling each of the names provided on the Emergency Contact List. Each emergency contact will be called three times. If, after 30 minutes from the scheduled pick up time, we are unable to reach you or someone listed on the Emergency Contact List, we will call either the police and/or DCFS child abuse/neglect hotline.

Between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM, parents and children are not allowed to enter the building. The LFC*daycare reserves the right to deny access to the building to anyone for security reasons.

The following procedures are followed to insure the safety and security of our school community:

● LFC*daycare doors remain locked throughout the day, and access is monitored at all times by cameras. Parents can open the front door; The second door can only be activated by LFC*daycare personnel ● Visitors are usually not accepted during the day. If a visitor must be accepted, they are accompanied at all times by an employee of LFC*daycare. ● Our LFC*Daycare staff are required to go through both DCFS and LFC background check processes. 

LFC*daycare environment: ● Smoking is prohibited on or near the LFC*Daycare premises. ● Radon testing is required and performed every three years, and the results are posted on the premises. ● Water is tested for lead regularly. ● The LFC*Daycare building participates in the Integrated Pest Management Program. Pesticides are not applied when children are in the building. Pesticides are not applied to toys or furniture. Records are maintained and available.

Emergency policies: The LFC*daycare follows all policies and actions plans as developed by LFC in case of fire hazard, severe weather, loss of power or water access and intruder policies.

Firearm-free zone: It is forbidden for a person who is entering the LFC*daycare space or any part of the LFC campus to bring any weapon or firearm. This policy applies to a radius of 1,000 feet from the school grounds.

Emergency Closings: The LFC*daycare follows all policies and actions plans as developed by LFC. When it is necessary to close the school prior to the start of the day due to inclement weather, building conditions or for other reasons, parents will be notified by a calling system. With the contact information you provide, your cell phones can be reached to alert you to the closing. Closings will also be posted on the local news channels. When it is necessary to close the LFC*Daycare during the day, parents will be called using the calling system. We will also email parents about the closing.
